History
BenQ traces its origins to 1984, when it was established as Acer Peripherals, a division of the Taiwanese computer company Acer. During the late 1990s, Acer reorganized its businesses, allowing the peripherals division to operate more independently.
In 2001, Acer officially spun off the company, which adopted the name BenQ, derived from the phrase “Bringing Enjoyment ‘N’ Quality to Life.” This marked the beginning of BenQ as an independent global brand focused on consumer electronics and digital lifestyle products. [3]
