About Human Nature
History
Human Nature was officially launched in November 2008 after extensive research into natural formulations. The founders envisioned a company that would promote Philippine agriculture by sourcing ingredients such as coconut oil, citronella, lemongrass, and other locally grown botanicals directly from farming communities. The company also aimed to provide sustainable livelihoods by purchasing raw materials at above-market prices and investing in farmer training and equipment. [1]
As the brand expanded, it introduced a wide range of products across skincare, haircare, cosmetics, wellness, baby care, and household cleaning. Human Nature later established its own manufacturing facility in Canlubang, Laguna, enabling greater control over product quality and production standards. [1]
Mission and Philosophy
Human Nature operates on three guiding principles:
-
Pro-Philippines – Supporting local industries, Filipino talent, and locally sourced ingredients.
-
Pro-Poor – Creating sustainable livelihoods for marginalized communities through fair trade and employment.
-
Pro-Environment – Developing products that minimize environmental impact through natural ingredients and responsible manufacturing. [1]
Rather than focusing solely on commercial success, the company identifies itself as a social enterprise, integrating social and environmental goals into its business model. [1]

[1]
Manufacturing and Quality
Human Nature manufactures its products in the Philippines using formulations developed by Filipino scientists through its Natural Care Labs. The company states that every product undergoes laboratory testing, stability testing, safety assessments, and consumer testing before release. Selected products also undergo independent clinical evaluations, such as hypoallergenic and SPF testing. [1]
Its manufacturing plant in Laguna follows strict quality standards, including microbial testing standards that the company says are significantly more stringent than the minimum cosmetic industry requirements. [1]
