1974: PARATIRE and retreading expertise

In 1974, Dr. Kiatichai relocated to his hometown of Nakhon Pathom and established PARATIRE, a tire-retreading company.4 This venture provided the technical foundation for the group’s later expertise in commercial tire durability and casing integrity.

1986: Establishment of Otani Tire Co., Ltd.

Otani Tire Co., Ltd. was formally established in 1986, initially focusing on the manufacture of bias-ply tires.5 During this period, OTANI built a strong market position in agricultural, off-road, industrial, and commercial bias tire segments.

2007: Expansion into radial technology

A significant milestone occurred in 2007 with the establishment of Otani Radial Co., Ltd., created specifically to manufacture radial tires for trucks and buses.6 This marked a major expansion beyond the group’s traditional bias-tire business.

2008: Large OTR tire production

In 2008, OTANI began producing 45/65-45 tires, described at the time as the largest tire size that manufacturers in Thailand and Southeast Asia could produce.7

2010: Greenfield manufacturing project

The group launched a new greenfield manufacturing project for truck and bus radial tires in 2010. Equipped with modern machinery, the facility was designed with an annual production capacity of approximately 1.5 million tires.8

2017: Passenger-car radial tires

In September 2017, Otani Radial commenced commercial production of passenger-car radial (PCR) tires, further diversifying the company’s portfolio into the passenger vehicle market.9
