About WUXIN
Note: “WUXIN” is not a single globally unique brand name. Several unrelated Chinese companies use WUXIN or WuXin as their corporate or product brand. This profile focuses primarily on WUXIN GROUP, the Chinese dyes-and-pigments manufacturer whose official website uses WUXIN as its principal brand.1
Overview
WUXIN GROUP is a Chinese chemical manufacturing and trading group specialising in dyes and pigments, particularly products used in the denim, textile, and related colouring industries. The company traces its origins to 1989 in Hebei, China, and originally manufactured chloroacetic acid before shifting its strategic focus towards indigo and other dyes.1

History
The development of WUXIN can be categorised into several distinct stages.
1989–2000: Chemical manufacturing
The predecessor to the current group, Anping County Wuxin Chemical, was founded in 1989. Its original business centred on chloroacetic acid. By 1996, the company states that its sales volume had reached a leading position in Asia.1
However, the market subsequently declined, prompting management to reconsider its product strategy.
2002–2004: Entry into indigo
Around 2002, WUXIN began transitioning its manufacturing activities toward the indigo business. Following several years of research and development, it completed its indigo products in the early 2000s.1
In 2003, the company commenced indigo production with an initial stated capacity of approximately 6,000 tonnes per year.1 This transition was significant as indigo is one of the principal dyes associated with blue denim.
2016: Expansion in Inner Mongolia
In 2016, Inner Mongolia Wuxin began operating an indigo production facility with a stated annual capacity of 20,000 tonnes. This represented a major expansion of the group’s manufacturing footprint.1
2019–2021: Diversification and group development
WUXIN subsequently expanded beyond conventional indigo through several key developments:1
- 2019: Merged with Inner Mongolia Runkang to optimise bromo-indigo production.
- 2020: Established Inner Mongolia Fuyuan and commenced pigment production.
- 2021: Established Hebei Fuxin International as a dedicated sales company.
The resulting organisation is presented by the company as WUXIN GROUP, rather than simply a single-product chemical manufacturer.
Products
The current WUXIN portfolio is concentrated in dyes and pigments.
Indigo
Indigo blue is the most recognisable product category within the WUXIN range. Historically associated with the characteristic colouration of denim jeans, industrial indigo is used to dye cotton yarn and fabric, particularly in denim manufacturing. WUXIN identifies indigo as a core product and has invested substantially in production capacity since entering the market in the early 2000s.1
Bromo indigo
Bromo indigo is another specialty dye in the portfolio. The company expanded its capabilities in this area through the 2019 merger with Inner Mongolia Runkang.1
Sulphur black
WUXIN also manufactures sulphur black, a dye used primarily for the coloration of textiles.
Pigment blue
The company produces pigment blue, marking an expansion of its business from dyes into pigment-based coloration.
Pigment green
Pigment green forms another part of the group’s pigment portfolio. Dedicated pigment production began following the establishment of Inner Mongolia Fuyuan in 2020.1
Business model
WUXIN operates primarily as a B2B chemical manufacturer, rather than a consumer-facing fashion brand. This distinction is significant; when consumers purchase jeans dyed with indigo, they typically see the clothing manufacturer’s brand rather than the name of the chemical supplier. Consequently, WUXIN operates further up the supply chain.
A simplified representation of this model is:
WUXIN → dye/pigment → textile/denim manufacturer → garment brand → consumer
Its competitive proposition is therefore based on chemical quality, consistency, production capacity, technical support, product development, international supply, and manufacturing reliability, rather than consumer advertising. The company describes itself as a manufacturer and marketer serving customers both domestically and internationally.1
Manufacturing and international reach
WUXIN has developed manufacturing operations in several parts of China, including Hebei and Inner Mongolia, while its international sales organisation is based in Shijiazhuang, Hebei.1
The group states that its products have been exported to numerous countries and regions, including:
- Germany
- Mexico
- Pakistan
- Singapore
- Brazil
- Turkey
- North Macedonia
- India
- Indonesia
- Vietnam
- Thailand
- Philippines
This export activity gives WUXIN an international orientation beyond the domestic Chinese market.1
Positioning
WUXIN is positioned as a Chinese industrial chemical brand specialising in dyes and pigments, with particular expertise in indigo and denim coloration. Unlike fashion brands such as Levi’s or Wrangler, WUXIN does not sell finished jeans to consumers. Its role is primarily as a materials and chemical supplier within the textile value chain. Its strongest association is therefore with industrial colour chemistry, particularly regarding blue denim.
Corporate development
A notable feature of WUXIN’s history is its transformation from a relatively specialised chemical producer into a broader dyes-and-pigments group. The progression occurred as follows:
- Chloroacetic acid
- Indigo
- Bromo indigo + sulphur black
- Pigments
- International dyes & pigments group
The company describes this evolution as a response to changes in its original market and subsequent investment in research, development and manufacturing.1
Brand identity
The name WUXIN is commonly rendered as “Wuxin” or “WuXin” in English-language materials. The brand’s public identity is strongly associated with chemical manufacturing, denim, indigo, pigments, industrial production, B2B supply, and international exports. The company’s website describes its long-term objective as continuing to develop and supply refined dyes and pigments to customers.1
Other companies named WUXIN
“WUXIN” is ambiguous on the Chinese industrial market and should not automatically be assumed to refer to WUXIN GROUP. Other entities include:
