History
Foundation (1888)
George S. Parker was a telegraphy instructor who frequently repaired faulty fountain pens sold to his students. Frustrated by the poor quality of existing pens, he believed there was room for improvement. His philosophy became the company’s famous motto:
“It will always be possible to make a better pen.”
In 1888, he established the Parker Pen Company in Janesville, Wisconsin, and received his first pen patent in 1889.
